Orthopedic surgeries are performed as a result of various problems such as joint deformities, arthritic conditions, and also injuries acquired through sports. These procedures aim at minimizing the chances of having to open up a patient’s body. As a result, the patient can leave the respective hospital on the same day of the surgery as the incisions are minimal. The body parts that are involved in these procedures, aimed at repairing the ligaments that have been damaged, include the wrists, knees, hips, and shoulders.

The total shoulder replacement is an arthroscopic procedure that is carried out to reduce the pain experienced in a joint that functions quite similarly to the shoulder. This results in the patient being able to feel better with time. The parts of the cartilage and bone that have been damaged are replaced with a plastic or metallic implant. This enhances the scale of motion at the joint of the shoulder.

Patients diagnosed with arthritis who seek an increased range of movement are recommended to undertake a total replacement surgery. This procedure is aimed at restoring the main functions of the affected regions and relieving the patient from the pain that comes as a result of the problem. In this surgical process, the affected joints are assessed so that they can be replaced with plastic and metallic embedment.
